Sony phased these out, but there are still a lot of users that depend on these for many different things. When Sony threw out an update that bricked a bunch (they have since corrected, but its too late for our bricked ones) I was trying to find an alternative, and there is none other than Chumby or Dash! There were no Chumby 8s in stock, so I got my old stand-by, the Dash. The folks at thechumbystore were awesome! They made sure I knew about the problems, and verified and talked with me before shipping! That little bit of extra care meant the world! And when they shipped, it was here in 2 days! Absolutely wonderful service! I can only hope the Chumby keeps going! This is an untapped resource! Thank you again!

I bought this in January of 2016. I've always preferred the interface of the dash to the chumby as it has a clean look with a clock, weather and another app of section of your choosing. They have a few other formats still available as well that show shortcuts to various apps. I know the Dash has been discontinued and then abandoned its server. However in the last couple months there appears to be life. I can't specify on what's new, I only use a few features. My main complaint is that it doesn't have a working picture chumby app. Photobucket, Picasa and Flickr have all appeared to stop working. Though, Photobucket appears to work solely as a digital picture frame, meaning when it's active it takes up the whole screen and you can't see the time and weather like I personally prefer.
I also use the msnbc news app, ESPN headlines and Google sports. Hopefully, Sony can get Picasa or photobucket back online and I'll be plenty happy.
